Rejection

A Guy Graeme (mid 20's) needs a kidney and woman Sara Lee (also mid 20's) she doesn't know and decides to donate a kidney as a good deed of Karma she says. And as luck may have it. He ends up getting it. Later on they have a chance encounter and from there a romance sparks from it.

But the two have plenty of problems to deal with that are in their ways. Can they make it happen? Or is it just not meant to be after all?

Like a bunch of my other screenplays. I've got some people to read them. And they really enjoyed them. This would be a PG-13. There isn't that much cursing in this one. It's mainly a sweet love story between two lost souls that didn't know each other. That is until fate touched down upon them.

Goodbye's and Hello's

This is the story of A teenage boy is about to profess his undying love for the girl he's loved even before he was suppose to love them. But one small problem. She moves away to become an actress, and in the course. She becomes one of the most famous actresses in the world due to a series of movies.

But fate has a funny sense of humor. 10 years later she is back in town to film her new movie. And he has a second chance at telling her what he didn't get to say the
first time over 10 years ago. But there is only one thing standing in his way of a fairytale storybook ending. Her British Rock Star douchebag boyfriend Anthony John.

It's also sorta a what if scenario if you lived next door to a girl you loved all your life. And the flash forward so many years later. To see she's become one of the most famous actresses in the world. And you had a second chance at telling her how you felt over the years.

I've gotten two great reviews for this so far. Saying its by far my sweetest and touching script yet to date. And that's coming from someone who loved my other script Life As Liz. And they loved that one. So shows you that I'm doing something right here with this one.

It shows you the feelings that you could have for someone. and all it takes is that one special day or night to bring back all those feelings you had for them many years ago.

Lost in Paradise

This is Almost sorta like a female version of Wedding Crashers. But something different yet at the same time.

The two main female characters Al and Eliza are crude , but not to the point where they're undateable. Women are often like men, where they have difficulty with commitment in relationships, and that should be displayed in a film like that. It's the perfect flipside to how weddings are portrayed by men.

An aspect could be where one of the girls has slept with a crazy amount of guys, but feels she's done too much damage as a single woman to ever be considered "wifey material" by a great man, who winds up being "the one." So men just see her as a possible one night. A pre show before the main event you could say.

It'll be crude and expletive. But one of the two main characters is more out there than the other to differentiate the two. As far as reasons go, maybe one of them is basically a girl who likes commitment free no strings attached sex.  And can never commit to one person for more than a night or a week, while the other only had one steady boyfriend for over 10 years, but he cheated on her, so her heart was broken harshly, never to trust men again other than the occasional one night stand. Because all she's ever dated were jerks before.

Hawaii is used as part of the plot. Like so many people go there for weddings and the girls pick up on the guys as potential one night stands. Because they know the guys won't be around long. People are always having weddings there. So they can have their pick of the litter.

Their jobs are wedding planners. So that's how they meet so many guys.

I've had one good review on this. They liked it, but didn't totally love it. So I need to look over some of the dialogue and tone it back a bit. Other than that I'm good so far on what I'm told from it. In the script it's mentioned a few times that Hawaii is like Paradise. So I guess it's only fitting then why its called Lost In Paradise. People get lost in their heads trying to escape to Paradise for a bit.

Life As Liz

Now this is what I feel is my most favorite screenplay out of them all. I've put the most work and care into this one. Going through 5 different drafts and a polish job from someone who read it and loved it. But they looked through it and helped me out a bit.

The story is about a very good looking girl. She dresses and looks beautiful. But acts like a dude. She farts and burps more than any guy, has the messiest apartment ever. Says the most raunchiest things. She's like this cause she was raised with 4 brothers and is the youngest But has to take on the duties of running the family business. Especially since her dad dies, and her mom sits there in a coma like state. Along with her brothers being useless. She has alot to deal with. Both work and her personal life Because who she is and how she acts.

She has trouble with men. Because I'm sure it doesn't matter how hot a girl is. There's only so much a guy can take of it. But it's not her fault. That's just how she was raised.

This only leaves her with one option. Internet dating. She strikes up a internet relationship with this one guy (RUSSELL) This is because her brothers set up a dating profile as a joke. but she figured why not? What's the worse that can happen? They've never met only talked online via skype.

All is going good until he finally wants to meet her in person. She keeps saying no. But realizes that if she keeps saying no. He'll stop talking to her and she really likes him. So she agrees to it. Even though she knows it's not a good idea. He's from a different state, so he makes plans to arrive to meet her the next month when he's in town on business. So with the short amount of time she has before her "internet Bo" arrives. She uses that time to become more lady like with the help of her friend and brothers.

It'll almost in a way be like those Melissa McCarthy movies where she plays the character. But instead of a slob like character. It'll be a good looking girl instead. I mean think about it. You never really see anything like this. It's either a guy like Zach Galafankis or what Melissa McCarthy does in every single one of her movies. You can't say she doesn't. Cause she really does.

Elizabeth "Liz" Fitzpatrick (Main Female Character)
Russell (Main Male Lead Who talks to Liz online)
The Main family and friends live in Boston and have the Bostonian Accents.
They have a family like in the Fighter. But it's just one female in all male family.

As I said the film takes place in Boston. Her 4 brothers are Red Sox fans. Russell likes The Yankees and her brothers give her a hard time for dating a Yankees fan. (Even if he is from the West Coast) Seeing how much bad blood there is between the two teams and their respective fans. The brothers pick on both her and him when he arrives.
There's also references to The New England Patriots, Tom Brady and his wife Gisele.

Three big set pieces that include something happening in a parking lot at a tailgating event at Fenway Park before a Sox/Yankees game. A very romantic basketball scene that consists of Strip Horse and at a Karaoke Bar that involves singing Pat Benatar, Foreigner and Joan Jett songs. There's also this funny pizza scene. That's best if read.

I've got very excellent reviews from this. 7 out of 8 people loved it. and the person who didn't care for it said they liked the characters even if they didn't like the story for it.

Here is the most glowing review yet for this.

"Okay, finished reading your script in full (sorry for the delay), and while I had my doubts about the somewhat excessive profanity earlier on in the story, the rest of the screenplay turned to be a wonderful and entertaining comedy that had as much heart as it did humor. Once Russell met Liz and they began their friendship/romance, I was immediately hooked.

The one thing I especially liked about their romance, especially the climax, was that it was the woman chasing after the guy in the end, not the other way around, which has always been the norm in Hollywood. That was refreshing to see. It kinda felt like What's Your Number? in a way, with Anna Faris and Chris Evans. But you put your own cool twist on it by having the two be this wacky, geeky, yet madly-in-love couple who didn't have to end up together in the typical, cliché fashion of romance films.

The brothers were all funny as hell, and truly felt like the big brothers I expected them to be.

Denise was the perfect type of best friend for Liz who would help give her advice, yet be as vulgar and crazy as she was.

Russell's backstory brought everything together as to why he was kind of cool and reserved, and not just fawning over Liz right off the bat.

Loved how Liz's mother remained sorta comatose throughout the whole thing, only to wait until that right moment at the end to deliver her first line, which would ultimately help her daughter choose her path of happiness. Great mother/daughter moment at the end.

My only minor gripes were:
  • Liz and Denise's conversations going slightly long.
  • Liz's quirky, signature laugh after many scenes. Some scenes had great comedic one-liners that could've wrapped the scene up there, without the extra dialogue and laughing.
  • Liz somewhat matured and improved with her ladylike qualities, but again, perhaps condensing the cursing, especially from Russell, would've helped balance out the two personalities.

All in all though, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this script, since I'm a personal Yankee fan, and kinda despise Red Sox fans, but somewhere in the midst of all the potty humor, there was a great emotional story in there as well. You're well on track to making amazing scripts, and I look forward to seeing what else you have in store."

So as I mentioned at the start. This would have to be my favorite screenplay that I've written at the moment. I have plenty of other ideas for screenplays. All dealing in their own different genres.

I currently started a female comedy screenplay. So that should keep me busy for some time now.

Misery Loves Company

Misery Loves Company is the story A Brother and Sister swap bodies in a weird occurrence. Popular cheerleader TRISH and her less popular Brother ZACH who's the third string back up Quarterback mainly due to his sister popularity.

Through this they find out it's not to so easy living the other half as they once thought. It'll be a lot like 80's teen comedies/late 90's teen comedies. Raunchy with heart.

So would also have to be in my top 5 favorite screenplays I've done so far. Some of the scenes in this are so far over the top you won't believe they said that or went there.

This also has gotten very positive reviews. Matter of fact. Here is a quick review from someone who loved it.

The R-rated version of Freaky Friday. It's Everything I wanted Freaky Friday to be.
I just finished Misery Loves Company. Started reading it this morning when I got up, and finished in about an hour. It flew by because I was enjoying it so much. This is definitely your best script from what I have read! It is so funny, I can promise you I laughed more than a few times.

You don't know how good this script is! Its entertaining, its funny, its raunchy, its badass. I can see this being a really popular comedy if it was made. You seriously should get this read by more people!

10 out of f*cking 10! Really good job."

This would have to be at least in my top 3 of favorite screenplays I've done currently.

Zombie High

This is a teen love story that takes place at the start of a zombie epidemic break out.

Johnny Beckham after many years of school finally musters up the confidence and courage to confess his life long love for fellow classmate Carissa. He finally talks to her, admitting his feelings for her.

To his delight she likes him too, but had the same problem as he did. But it was not meant to be. Soon after Carissa finds out her parents are moving to the next town over, forcing her to switch school districts limits for a local.

Soon after she leaves the next day. Zombies begin to start attacking the two towns. As this with the kids in the middle of a school day

Johnny after hearing this decides to go save her in the next town over. With his friends, along with the unusual group of survivors left after the schools attacked and most of everyone is dead. It'll be gory, but also very funny.

After much haste I finally decided to tackle the Zombie Sub genre. Zombie are particularly hot at the moment. And you can thank "THE WALKING DEAD" for that over the last few years. So everybody and their brother are making cheap zombie movies that could about a $1.50 if that.

I've gotten very good reviews on this too. One person said they cared when some of the characters started dying. They were very relatable and funny, without being annoying.

It's Not Christmas Without You

The story is about our couple Chris and Sabrina who live out in California, but are originally from Pennsylvania where it snows all the time. They've lived out there for over 10 years. This year Sabrina wants to go back home. She misses the snow and wants to go back for a white Christmas to see her family she hasn't seen in ages.

After having a semi argument, Sabrina leaves Chris to back to her family for the holidays and actual cold weather for once this that time of the year there.

Soon after finding something about his relationship with Sabrina. Along with being told the fact that Sabrina's Ex-boyfriend Kevin being back in town and on the prowl to try and get back with her. Knowing that she's newly single being emotionally and available at the moment he will try to make his move back onto her. To see if he can pick up where he left off so many years ago.

Chris decides to drive cross country to Pennsylvania to get to Sabrina and save her from Kevin. He begins to start driving there, but that's where the fun starts. With him needing to get out there as soon as possible. Thus begins all the weird and interesting stories of people and things on his journey there.

This here I feel is a very unique screenplay in itself. I've mixed a whole bunch of genres into this one.  I feel it has a little bit of everything for everyone. I like to call it a Cross Country Romantic Road Trip Action Comedy. It has the romance aspect for the women, sometimes over the top comedy for those who like laughing at these extreme situations and some crazy action for the guys too.

Like TRUTH OR DARE. IT'S NOT CHRISTMAS WITHOUT YOU is in my top 5 favorites I've screenplays that I've done so far. I feel that you think you know where this is eventually going ,but when we get to the end it's not what you thought it was. Plus the scope of it just gets bigger and bigger as we go along. At first it starts off as a normal romantic comedy, but that's just where the fun begins and the adventure starts.

I've gotten nothing but great reviews from those who've read this one so far.

Truth or Dare

Truth or Dare is about What happens when a simple game of Truth or Dare goes wrong and the people are willing to cover up the secrets as they never existed. And how a secret can really kill you if you don't tell the truth, even if it was a accident.

As they people start to find out is death worth keeping this secret or will they let it spill before the person after them spills their guts instead.

It's a throwback to those late 90's/early 00 slasher films such as Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend and Valentine. But mainly Scream.

The Killer would be wearing a wolf like mask, you know playing up the whole boy who cried wolf story. Even know I know Cry Wolf did a similar thing, but it would be totally different. He have like I said a Wolf type mask and maybe like a cloak or jacket. The main killing weapon is an Axe, calling back to Little Red Riding Hood, the story where the Lumberjack kills the wolf with an Axe.

I've had plenty of good reviews on this. As I've mentioned up above. This a murder mystery whodunit screenplay. You're left guessing on who the killer is until the last 10 pages of so. If that even.  I would say this might be my favorite Horror screenplay that I've written. And easily in my top 5 ones I've written.

The movie SCREAM was a huge influence on me. Growing up I wasn't always into horror movies. Matter of fact I was a scared wuss of them. lol. But it wasn't until 1996 when WES CRAVEN'S "SCREAM" So that was the film that really love and get into horror films. So I'm glad I was around that age when Scream happen and horror was hot again. I know not a lot liked those Good looking "WB" Teen slashers, but I did.

Best/Worst Week Ever

Next up is a Teen comedy called Best/Worst Week Ever

Quinton Rivers A (35) year old Person Assistant working on movie sets in California is unhappy with his life and job. Where it's taken him over the last few years, And

life in general really in the year 2015.

Until a faithful accident one day on set of the movie he's working on happens. Knocking him out. Waking up 20 years in the past, back in his childhood  room of his house back in 1995 and to top things off, waking up on the worst week of his life. The very same one that led him to the life he had currently lived.

He has another chance at life to fix all the mistakes made to correct. Including getting his drivers license, first kiss, date, High School Dance, and a big fight that goes wrong in a huge way. Most importantly, commits social suicide, plus messing up with his crush, but he can fix it all over again like he's always wanted to do ever since than..

- Along with his two best friends (QUINTON AND HOLLY) he will help the wrongs made and the potential missed opportunities. Not knowing whether he's stuck there for good, or not. He's gonna have to try and make the best out of a bad situation, or maybe a good thing for him.

I know a lot of people have tried the 80's and beyond. I think were at the time where you probably can go back 20 years or so. The start of the film would take place in 2015 and go back in time to 1995, where the main character is again 15, going on 16. Could be fun to see all the stuff back then and the character talk about stuff he knows that's gonna happen in the future or mention stuff that hasn't happen yet.

- Everyone has mistakes they wish they could relive if  given the chance. It's kinda based off this short lived TV show I liked that had a similar premise from over 10 years ago on the then WB called Do Over. I could see a lot of me in the main character. I mean I lived through the 90's. I was 14 in 1995. I feel like I missed a lot of stuff in my life that I didn't do or wanted to do. So with this screenplay it gives me that chance to either relive it or do it for the first time ever.

That's why I added in the main guy in the movie business like I wanna do. A lot of movies from 1995 and up. Most of the characters won't have a clue on what he's talking about really.

This screenplay and story in a way is really close to my heart. Because it's something I wish I could do. But i'm sure a lot of us wish we could go back and redo something. And in a way this is my chance to do that all over again to my liking.

Take Over (working title)

After 3 straight horror screenplays.  I decided to foray into the Sci-Fi/Action/Alien Invasion Sub Genre.

The current title at the moment is Take Over (working title)

It's Independence Day done in a bigger way. Think Michael Bay big. A combo of Independence Day, Transformers, War Of The Worlds 2005 and Cloverfield.

The story revolves around 3 or 4 groups of people while all of this happens.

It takes place in a small town in Boston. From the views of a bunch of teens looking for answers, a once great scientist looking to gain his name back, he lost it cause he said Aliens were real. Two military guys jets that were shot down over Boston looking to get home. Finally with our lead to find his way back to his Friends and girl he loves.

It'll have Very much Michael Bay action scenes in some spots. The main human part is big inspiration from the first Transformers with the two teen leads.

Not to mention A ending like none see before in this type of genre also I mentioned.

I've gotten a few reviews on this. It's probably the longest screenplay at almost 150 pages. I'm sure there are things that could be trimmed. But seeing how I'm too close to the project I might not realize what works and what doesn't.  So I might need a few extra pair of eyes to tell me what is good and what can be completely cut out.

Rockwell

Up next is ROCKWELL. My take on the supernatural haunted house sub genre.

But soon finds out about the lands history and who once owned it. And their secret history it belonged too. And that the person's history really isn't what the town's people make it out to be.

This is a very small cast of characters in this. Maybe 3 main characters (Casey, her old friend BRETT and his buddy TEDDY. Who's a expert in this field) and 2 side characters (ROCKWELL and BRETT'S DAD. This is another screenplay that I've got very good reviews from. One person even liken it to a film that Edgar Wright (Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End) would do.

It's a very funny screenplay at times. But also at the same time downright creepy and eerie too. It's definitely the shortest screenplay I've written at only 83 pages.

As I mentioned how it's funny and scary. But also has a mystery aspect about the town's people who founded the town along with all it's history of how it all happen.

This is in the top 5 of my favorite scripts I've done at the moment currently.

Rockwell is the story about A young woman (CASEY) who inherits a old plantation farmhouse and all of its land from her dead grandfather. She goes down to see what it's all about and what she's gonna do with the place.

It'll be a ghost story like Poltergeist, and influenced a lot by the TV show Supernatural.

Snow Front

My follow up to BLACK CREEK was SNOW FRONT.

Snow Front is the story of a young man who tries coping with Christmas and his unexplained hatred for it. All while trying to figure who is killing people in his neighborhood and might in fact have clues to his past.

All while trying to save the girl across the street he doesn't know but has a crush on to save her and her sorority sisters, with his Best friends help and his annoying brother.

This would be a Christmas slasher film that of course takes place during Christmas while it's a blizzard outside. There is no cheesy killer Santa in this though. I mean there is a Santa character in this screenplay. But not a person running around hacking up people.

I would say this would have to be the darkest screenplay that I wrote at the time. and I still think is the darkest yet one so far.  It can be extremely violent at times. I've had some feedback on this one. The main issue I got was that the dialogue between the female characters could have been better. Which is something I feel I imported upon in later different screenplays dealing with female characters.

It has a 80's and 90's slasher feel to it. As mentioned, it's violent, but has some laughs in there too. With a touch of sadness added In there as well for good measure.

Black Creek

Black Creek is about a  group of early 20 something's driving cross country. But get caught up in Texas due to car troubles. And end up getting more then they bargain for.

Once they go to a small town in to get their car fixed. They start to disappear one by one in a mysterious ways. The Killer is capturing and murdering the people on the will of his mother who deems them un-pure and not of god.

Ones who temp the world with their flesh and well beings whether they know it or not.

This is my first attempt at writing a horror screenplay. And I have to say one of my most well received screenplays as well. I think like 10 out of 11 people who read this screenplay highly enjoyed it.

One person who read it said they liked how the characters weren't stupid and figured out exactly what's happening and how to go about getting out of those situations.

it does a great job at building up suspense without giving away too much too quickly. But when it hits its moments it pays off wonderfully. The violence is spread out through out the entire thing. So it's not just blood and gore for 90 some pages. It has actually character moments in which you care for these people when they die.

I feel that it works fine both as a horror movie and as well a thriller/mystery.

The Rules of a Break Up

The Rules Of A Break Up - The story of a guy in high school where the girls talk about their Boyfriends and it made him jealous girls never seen him in that light. Years later with all that he's gathered over the years he takes takes what he's learned from it. By sleeping with as many woman as he can and never calling back.

But soon after his world is rocked when he meets this girl and before he has the chance to break up with her, She breaks up with him. This just drives him crazy. He does everything he can to try and get back with her just so he can break it off himself. He's such a vein arrogant prick. No women does this to him.

Though as the dates go on and on its beginning to get harder for him to break things off with her since he's starting to fall for this girl. Which is something he swore he would never ever do again.  (It'll be akin to a lot of Judd Apatow type movies. Where it's a bit raunchy and vulgar at time, but with tons of heart in the end.)

I feel I learned a bit more on this one formatting wise. The order that I'm posting these are the order that I wrote them in. I started writing this one in Early 2008.

We have 4 leads in this screenplay. Dean our main character with commitment issues due to something that happen in High School that really messed him up. Jared, Dean's Best friend and business partner. Beth, Jared's long time Girlfriend and one who doesn't approve of Dean's womanizer ways. Finally Marie, A friend and co-worker of Beth who set the two up on a date that goes bad from the very start.  But there is just something that draws Dean Marie to a moth like the flame.

I feel it's a very honest look at relationships and those who have their own issues with life and how they tend to handle them in life. Whether it's in a good or bad.

The script would be very R rated. The ending I would say was the biggest nutshell for me to crack here. I don't think I've ever had as much trouble with a ending as here. I must have gone through at least 3 different endings before settling on the one I have.

The Stranger

First up is the first screenplay that I ever wrote. I started writing it in 2004 I think it was. It could have also been early 2005. I'm not to sure about that.

But anyway. It's called The Stranger (Started writing this in 2004, so The Strangers hadn't even came out yet)

A guy (Seth) and his two friends win a trip out to Los Angeles from a radio station. One night in a club our main hero saves a movie star (Stacy) from her abusive Boyfriend. Soon after they instantly connect. With him becoming her bodyguard. Stacy keeps gets harassing calls and letters from a stalker. So it's up to Seth and his friends to see who's doing this before it's too late and any harm befalls Stacy.

You could categorize this as a Mystery/Suspense/Thriller. Though it does have a bunch of funny moments in it too. I didn't know much when I wrote this one. So you could say I was very green. The original draft of this was close to 180 pages. But that's only because I didn't know about pacing, nor did I know how to end a scene. So it would just go on and on until it eventually stopped.

I would have to say out of the 12 screenplays that I've written. This might be my least favorite of them all. Not to say it's bad though. Just that it's a bit rough to read because I didn't know about formatting at all. So stuff is all over the place with it. I'd have to go through it again and fix everything up to seem presentable.  But I'm sure most people don't like their first screenplay they've ever written either.

About This Blog

I've started this blog because I'm an aspiring screenwriter and looking to get into the entertainment business. And figured this was a good way to do so.

I've been doing this for close to 10 years already. Over  that span of time I've written 12 original full length scripts. Each one varying on their own thing. From Suspense/Thriller to Teen Horror to Raunchy Romantic Comedies to Teen Sex Comedies to Action/Sci-Fi and other things within the genres of themselves.

The first one I wrote took me a good while. Over a year I think it was. But that's mainly cause I'm a self taught writer. I've never taken any classes or courses on the subject. All that I've learned is from either reading scripts online from films that have been made. Listening to Podcasts and commentaries, or even watching feature long behind the scenes making of documentaries or featurettes. Anything that can and could give me more film knowledge into the world of movie making.

I've always had a strong love of movies from a young age. Going to the movies when I was younger was considered a event cause my mom didn't have a lot of money. So whenever I went to the movies I knew I was in for a treat.

I think the two movies from a young age that really inspired me and left me open mouthed going how did they do that were 1993's Steven Spielberg's epic masterpiece Jurassic Park and 1991's James Cameron's smash hit Terminator 2: Judgment Day. I knew forever my life was changed after seeing those two films up on the big screen at a young age.

I like a bit of everything movie wise. But I would have to say two of my favorite genres would have to be both Comedy and Horror and everything else in those sub genres. But as you read more about my screenplays you'll found that out.
